Farmers in Africa are struggling to sell their commodities in the international marketplace, as they face competition from large multinationals that can under-price them through economies of large-scale production.
At the same time, wholesalers in Bradford do not stock fairtrade products. Global Promise aims to help put the farmers on a more equal footing with larger producers, and develop the fairtrade movement in the Bradford community.
